I grew up in Wisconsin in a town
called Rhinelander. Dad was a
carpenter and mom was a mom. Two
brothers (truck driver and mechanic) and a sister (special ed. Teacher).
After graduating high school, I went to get a BBA from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. A fun place.
In the meantime, I joined the U.S. Army National Guard where I spent 10
years enlisted in the Cavalry. I
also became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
From there I joined the Pfizer sales force and spent three years selling
pharmaceuticals to doctors. Realizing
that was not the long term career I wanted, I went to Indiana University to get
an MBA. I was recruited to teach
small business courses at Warsaw University in Poland.
After spending a year there, I returned to work on my doctorate at IU.
I joined the ISU team in 2001. In
addition to this, I have and continue to work as a private consultant in a
variety of areas.
I teach strategy, international business and management for the school. I research in the areas of knowledge transfer, culture, and strategic alliances.
I have a beautiful wife Gwen, a wonderful daughter, Zosia, and a fine son, Rett. I love the outdoors and work as a rock climbing instructor on weekends. I also am very involved in the martial arts and was a member of the IU competitive Tae Kwon Do team as well as an instructor.
