
Jeffrey S. Harper, Ph.D., CFE
Jeff Harper is a Professor of Information Systems at Indiana State
University’s Scott College of Business.
He received his Ph.D. from Auburn University, is a Certified Fraud Examiner,
and has been an academic for over twenty years, teaching business courses and
conducting research studies at Indiana State, Harvard University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), Athens State
University, and Auburn University.
Professor Harper has published over 50 research papers and has
spoken at many domestic events and in nearly a dozen countries. Internationally known as an active researcher
and consultant, his interests include electronic commerce strategies,
technology transfer, and innovative business practices. He has served as a consultant for such
organizations as General Electric, State Farm Insurance, NASA, the U.S. Justice Department, the U.S. Department of the
Navy, Hewlett-Packard, Monroe Guaranty Insurance Corporation, BellSouth
Corporation, and Université Hassan II, in Casablanca,
Morocco. Most recently his research has
focused on community banking and financial reform. He is currently working on a new book,
“Innovative Business Practices in Emerging Economies,” to be published in 2012
by Routledge.
In 2008, Dr. Harper taught the graduate Electronic
Commerce Strategies (MGMT S105)
course at Harvard University in
Cambridge, MA. He has received Scott
College of Business Faculty Achievement Awards for outstanding teaching (2003)
and exemplary service (2008). He is also
a member of the Board of Directors for the UAH Alumni Association.
